The Arc Angel Program
The Arc Angel Program from The Arc of Mississippi is a holiday outreach initiative that provides gifts and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who may not have family or visitors during the Christmas season.
Here’s how it works:
-
The Arc partners with local churches, organizations, and community members.
-
Volunteers are matched with individuals living in intermediate care facilities, nursing homes, or on waiver programs.
-
Each volunteer receives a person’s name, age, and gift idea, ensuring every participant has a present to open on Christmas Day.
-
The program serves over 160 people across Mississippi, many of whom would otherwise be alone during the holidays.
It’s a beautiful way to bring dignity, joy, and connection to those who are often overlooked.
